Plastic Flooring

When you are looking for a material to cover your deck, think about using plastic flooring. This type of flooring is simple to install because all the pieces are interlocking and fit together. The pieces then lock in place. Each piece also has raised ribs so that even when it there is snow and ice on the deck, you have traction for east walking. Dirt will filter through the V-shaped ribs so all you have to do is hose down the deck every now and then. Although they are usually found outdoors, these tiles can also be used indoors, such as in a garage or on the floor or a workshop in the basement.

There is another type of plastic floor on the market and that is plastic wood. This is a wood-like product that is made from recycled plastic. Again, it is mostly used for decking, but there is no rule that it can't be used indoors. This type of wood is made either entirely from polyethylene or mixed with other materials to make it stronger and stiffer. Some of these materials are rubber, cement and steel.

If you choose recycled plastic lumber as the flooring for your deck some of the advantages you can enjoy include:
* Little or no maintenance
* Long lasting
* Resistant to moisture and chemicals
* No cracks or splinters to worry about
* Is resistant to insects and bacteria

Although it is more expensive than wood, the advantages far outweigh the price. You don't have to stain or paint it - all you have to do is wash it down.
