Vinyl Flooring

For those who want a floor that looks great and is not expensive, you have an option to install vinyl flooring in your home. Withy many designs available, you won't have a boring floor.

Vinyl floor can be manufactured in two ways - rotogravure or inlaid. Rotogravure flooring consists of a foam base upon with vinyl inks are printed. It also has a wearlayer coating. The process of making inlaid vinyl floors is a bit different. Here the tiny vinyl granules are precisely placed on top of a base layer. Then heat and pressure are applied to create a durable floor. Through this process the manufacturer can create rich colors for the flooring and it also adds more depth to the design. Because the patterns permeate the flooring, vinyl floors will show few nicks and scratches.

In the line of vinyl, you can choose sheets of flooring or vinyl tiles. If you want a seamless look to the floor, then sheet vinyl is your best option. The only problem is that if you decide you want a change, it is harder to remove the sheet vinyl. Before you go out and buy, check to see if the pattern you want comes in a perimeter bond application. This means that it will attach at the walls and seams because after you install it, vinyl does shrink.

If you like changing the flooring, then vinyl tiles might be better for you. You can install these 9 X 12 inch squares and you can create a unique pattern by mixing and matching designs or laying the tiles in different formats. You don't need to have an adhesive with tiles because they have a sticky backing that sticks to the underfloor. Just make sure you open the boxes for about 24 hours before the installation to allow the tiles to adjust to the temperature of the room.
